Refund Policy

REFUND POLICY

RentSmart – Refund Policy Addendum 

Effective Date: November 28, 2025 

Scope 

This Refund Policy applies to application fees paid by rental applicants through RentSmart Solutions, Inc. for the creation/processing of a RentSmart Profile and related screening facilitation. 

General Rule (Non-Refundable) 

Application fees are earned upon payment and are NON-REFUNDABLE once processing begins, whether or not an application is completed or submitted, and regardless of decision outcome, withdrawal, or non-selection. 

Limited Exceptions 

Refunds are available only for: (1) duplicate transactions; or (2) documented technical error that caused a mischarge. 

No Refunds For 

Incomplete/abandoned applications; decision outcomes; changes of mind; delays outside RentSmart’s control; inability to verify identity due to user error; or failure to meet property qualifications. 

Transfers 

Completed RentSmart Profiles may be reused for additional participating properties within applicable time windows. Additional fees may apply if refreshed screening is required. 

How to Request a Refund (Exceptions Only) 

Email info@rentsmart.com within 30 days of the charge. Include: full name, email, phone, property (if any), date/time of charge, last 4 digits of card (or payment method), amount, and a brief description. RentSmart may request additional information to verify the claim. 

Processing Time 

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval. 

Chargebacks 

Filing a chargeback does not guarantee a refund. RentSmart may provide proof of authorization, disclosures, and processing logs to your financial institution during a dispute. 

Changes 

RentSmart may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date.
